Summer is the perfect time to enjoy a cold, fruity treat and what better way to beat the heat than with a homemade ice lolly that’s as nutritious as it is delicious?
These healthy ice lollies are ideal for little ones and so simple to make. They’re naturally sweet, packed with real fruit and free from refined sugars or artificial additives.
You’ll need:
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 handful of strawberries or raspberries
- 1 handful of blueberries
- 200ml natural yoghurt or dairy-free alternative
- A splash of orange or apple juice
- Ice lolly moulds
How to make them:
- Blend the banana and yoghurt until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, gently mash the berries (you can blend these too if your little one prefers a smoother texture).
- Layer the yoghurt and berry mixture into the moulds, or swirl them together for a marbled effect.
- Add a splash of juice to loosen the mix if needed.
- Freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
These lollies are great for snack time or as a cooling treat after outdoor play. For extra fun, get your little one involved in choosing the fruit or helping with the mixing. Healthy, tasty and hands-on - a perfect way to enjoy a summer’s day.
