FAQs
We know you might have a few questions, so we’ve summarised our frequently asked questions below
We recognise that an early drop off can sometimes be a big help, so we will be offering an Early Blue Doors session from 7.30am which includes breakfast.
All of our team are qualified practitioners with some holding Level 6 degrees in Childcare. We also love to develop apprentices as they work towards a relevant childcare qualification.
We know that outside space is crucial throughout early years development. We benefit from a private play area and an interactive garden. We hope you will love it as much as we do.
It is important to us too. We will provide a balanced menu of home cooked meals in our own kitchen. If your child has a dietary requirement, please discuss this with your key person when starting, to ensure we can accommodate their dietary needs accordingly.
Please email your requirements and we will do our best to accommodate them. All of our sessions are in high demand, so please note that we may not be able to increase your child’s sessions after they have registered. We require you to complete an increased session form.
Yes we accept funded children. Please discuss your specific needs with our team.
We will operate two sessions:
School Day 8am - 4pm
Full Day 8am - 6pm
Absolutely! We believe some of the most memorable learning happens beyond our nursery doors. Throughout the year, children can enjoy carefully planned outings that extend their learning beyond the nursery, inspiring curiosity, confidence, and a genuine sense of adventure.
Whether we’re discovering local attractions, exploring woodlands, and engaging with wildlife or taking part in community experiences, every trip is thoughtfully planned to be safe, engaging, and full of opportunities for learning through play.
Many of our experiences are included at no additional cost. Some off-site experiences are not covered by session fees or the Early Years Funded Entitlement (EYFE) and therefore incur an additional charge. These experiences are optional and will be communicated in advance, with costs typically ranging from £18 to £25 per session, depending on the activity and venue.
There is an acceptance fee of £250.00 payable upon submission of your registration form, this payment secures your place at Little Blue Door. We operate a waiting list for which a £50 fee is required, this fee will form part of your acceptance fee once a place is available.
For families accessing EYFE hours only, any acceptance fee that is charged will be refunded shortly after headcount day, in line with Local Authority guidelines.
Little Blue Door is led by an experienced and passionate team who are dedicated to creating a warm, nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Principal Lucy Davies brings over 20 years of childcare experience and leads with a family-focused approach that is at the heart of everything we do. Our Chichester nursery is managed by Robert Severn, while our Westhampnett nursery is led by Katya Deere, both of whom have over 20 years of experience in early years education. They are supported by highly qualified deputy managers and specialist SENCos, Emily Riall, Kate Fowles and Laura Chamberlain, whose expertise helps ensure every child receives the individual care, encouragement and support they need to flourish.
